Cabbages and Frocks is a weekly Saturday market in Marylebone village and every once in a while they host a Dog Day Afternoon. With doggy themed stands, pet accessories, treats, displays and finishing off with a competition! It’s a really fun event to watch out for and I would recommend it to any dog owner. But not to worry there are also stands for the two legged, such as vintage clothing, jewellery, delicious food and coffee. Winston looking very serious in his new bow tie! There was a lovely display by Dima from Good Boy Dog School, as seen on “Britain’s Got Talent” and Crufts. The three dogs he showed were adorable and so eager to please, it was an absolute joy to watch! After the 2pm display there was a free to enter dog competition and the categories were: A bit of Ruff (for mixed breeds), Best Dog Trick, Toy Breeds, Matching Pairs, Waggy Tail, Best Puppy, Lookalike (dog and owner) and then Best in Show. The competitions were judged by Chamois Rose-wood of the Independent and Rob Alleyne from BB3 “Dog Borstal”!
To begin with I wasn’t going to enter Winston into the competitions but then we finally decided to go in for Best Puppy and amazingly he won! I was so delighted by how well behaved he was in the ring, he kept his focus on me and didn’t try to say hello/sniff the butt of every dog around us. Then incredibly Winston ended up winning Best in Show! I must have gone bright red with embarrassment but Winston was loving the extra attention from everyone. The prize was his very own BarkBeats box and two rosettes for the wall, haha!
We’ll definitely be going to the next one!
